Friends — as you know, a couple years ago I’ve joined IBM, where I’m now the Open-Source Science Community Director. I’m very proud to share the new community, Open-Source Science Initiative (OSSci) we’ve been building with NumFOCUS, the home of the most broadly used OSS for science including Jupyter, pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and more.
We are launching OSSci at SciPy 2022 in Austin, where IBM is the Gold and Opening Reception sponsor. If you are coming to Austin for SciPy 2022, join us at the opening reception at the Scholz’s Beer Garten at 7:30pm for the OSSci announcement with NumFOCUS, IBM, and launch partners.
You can read all about OSSci at its official Medium publication,
If you work on OSS for science, or helped advance such work, please share a statement of support that we can then share on our blog. That form also lets us stay in touch and update you on OSSci Interest Groups and other activities, that you can choose if you are interested.
Let us build a community of discovery together.
